Detailed Description
This study trip offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in one of Europe’s most dynamic sporting and cultural environments. Taking place in Barcelona and the Costa Dorada region, the visit is designed to enhance students’ learning through first-hand professional football experiences, exposure to new surroundings, and the development of essential life and employability skills.
The trip is structured to support wider curriculum objectives, including technical skill development, teamwork, personal growth, and an appreciation of elite training environments. For many students, this will be their first international experience, providing valuable independence, cultural awareness, and confidence-building opportunities.
Students will take part in two elite coaching sessions delivered by qualified RCD Espanyol youth academy coaches at the club’s high-performance training centre, Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque. This rare opportunity allows learners to experience the methods, expectations, and professional standards of a top-tier European football club
In addition, students will have the chance to test their skills through a fixture against local Spanish competition, providing real-world insight into match preparation, tactical demands, and the intensity of international competition.
A visit to the Spotify Camp Nou exhibition immerses students in the history, culture, and legacy of one of the world’s most recognisable football environments. The large-format, 360-degree “Camp Nou Live” experience allows students to feel what it is like to stand at the centre of Europe’s largest stadium and understand the emotional journey of elite athletes.
